What kind of events
Themes and Events
The events and activities are to be focused on the
- Past of Agile
- Present state of Agile
- Possible Future of Agile
All events are recorded and those recordings become part of a lasting research data set like Agile Ted Talks. In the future people can use those events to self learn and create their own learning paths. And all of that is free for everyone. We really hope that all organisations take part and unlock their creativity to put really interesting creative experiences into the programme.
Events by Location

The Agile20Reflect Festival has set up a network of Ambassadors to support Event Organisers in pulling their events together and add them to the Festival Calendar. Some event organisers won’t need any help and will just be adding their existing Meeting themed around the 20th Anniversary of the creation of the Agile Manifesto. While other will need a great deal of support, that support will come from the Ambassadors, they will help to identify speakers from the Speakers Directory and give or get support for presentation training for new meetings and event organisers.
Welcome Folks! The Biggest Global Agile Festival ever over 700 Free Online Events in February 2021. This is the first Global Community led Agile Festival!
And as we learn how to do this we want to explain why it’s not a conference so here goes…
At our Free Agile Festival you can host, or do anything that you want at any time in February 2021. Co-badge it with us and we will advertise your event or activity on our central programme and we will keep a copy of your event or research for people that are unable to attend to make use of free in the future.
It’s a simple idea, come be creative and share your passion! In our world community party!!!
To make this Community Based Festival work there are several ways to get involved
Agile20Reflect Principles
Why this festival?
We aim to build bridges and capture the various Agile communities across the globe in a huge Community led event for the Month of February 2021 to coincide with 20 years of the Agile Manifesto. The three themes are: Past, Current and Future of Agile and the Agile Communities.
Here are our 9 Festival Principles
- A Distributed Ecosystem: This is not a conference; it’s an ecosystem having a party! And it is not anything that is centrally run! (A distributed, self-organized month-long party)
- Free to Everyone: This is a huge free Festival of events and activities occurring in Feb 2021, created by local groups and organisations across the globe, supported by Community volunteers! This is Especially important in the current financial recession and mass layoffs.
- Locally Created: Choice of activities rests with the local Agile Community Groups, inclusion diversity and variety are actively encouraged. All this lead locally by our volunteer ambassadors
- Globally Connected Ambassadors across the globe engaging with local areas to :-
- Create awareness, so people know
- Registering local meetups and organisations with the Festival
- Supporting the creation of activities:
- Helping With Speakers (VSD will help)
- Guides for online hosting
- Code of Conduct
- Facilitating getting the event recordings – centrally available on Youtube (like Agile TED Talks)
- Make this really locally led, appropriate to local languages and culture
- Promote reflection and improvement in the Agile community
- Accessible and Inclusive Programme Directory: We will have a Festival Programme Directory listing all of the events, speakers and topics and this will be available to everyone to navigate the events/activities. All events will be:-
Locally hosted and you register with the local groups and run locally
Open to everyone
When the bookings are full, events can be live broadcast or uploaded to Youtube so people can watch - Community Funded: We will ask existing organisations, associations and businesses to lend their support. As this is distributed it is likely support will be about providing Access and Social Capital. Supporting organisations will help spread the message on the event and may help with financial support. (We are deliberately trying to limit the need for finance)
- Volunteer Speaker Powered: We are actively seeking diversity of Agile and Agility Speakers at all levels (we value new ideas and new voices as much as more experienced ones) to register as Volunteer Speakers and that directory will only be available to the Ambassadors to help meetups and organizations across the globe
- Self navigation – Build Your Own Experience: People will be able to self navigate their festival, do what they want or just watch it for free from the video archive, they can use these videos under creative commons for learning of any kind. Almost infinite options!
- Long Lasting Friendships: As well as the new relationships and huge new interaction between diverse technical, agile practice, and geographic communities, after the festival we will have a huge resource of recorded material that we will make available for free to anyone who wants to navigate that mass of learning. Also, this may lead to long lasting relationships and a continuing community ecosystem.

It acts as a navigator, creating a continuous flow of innovation from discovery, to design, to delivery. Gabrielle is an advocate for purposeful innovation and believes the relentless pursuit of ‘more, more, more’ gets in the way of success. Since developing the earliest inception of Mobius in 2009 she has helped individuals and organisations all over the globe, including Google and Red Hat solve complex problems in a transformational way.

Agile World https://www.youtube.com/@AgileWorld/
Agile World ® is News and Broadcast Network organisation based (originally in Hollywood, California) now in Geneva, Switzerland set up to make and distribute Agile media, entertainment and educational materials, it is an initiative of the nonprofit Agile World ® also based in Geneva, Switzerland. The Agile World talk show was created by Karl A L Smith based upon an homage to Wayne’s World and the Edinburgh Comedy Festival daily round up and Sabrina C E Noto as a way to garner engagement during a worldwide free festival in February 2021 that celebrated 20 years of Agile. Agile World News first show was recorded on the 31th of January 2021 and broadcasted on the 1st of February 2021 even though the show was created in October 2020. It continues today as a non-profit Entertainment and Education organisation for supporting people to gain free access to Agile education and continued professional development for existing Agile practitioners.
Together in February 2021 from 28 days Karl (volunteer, then CTO, then Trustee) and Sabrina (volunteer, then CMO, then Trustee) with other trustees, ambassadors, speakers and attendees from The Agile20Reflect Festival made 25 episodes, evolving the format as they went by experimentation. Working together within the Agile20 Reflect Festival the founders focused on the fun side of Agile, the humour is clear in their engagement with each other and their guests.

Agile World Non-profit
Agile World ® is a philanthropic organisation that is supporting Initiatives that are creating free Agile entertainment and education resources for the public good, focusing on increasing the quality of life for everyone. https://agile-world.charity/what-is-agile-world/
Agile World ® founders Sabrina C E Noto and Karl A L Smith want to establish and support initiatives that create free multilingual educational and training resources that provide materials for everyone regardless of their current circumstances.
At Agile World ® we recognise that mindsets are not easily changed but need evidence before choosing change. It is essential to understand that better ways of living or working cannot be imposed, but rather they must show tangible benefits to people lives before they adopt them as better ways to live and they become the norm.
Mindsets change with benefits gained, Co-Founder Karl A L Smith
Our volunteers are amazing people who have made a commitment to help people they may never meet, all while working full time, managing their home lives and relationships and being good citizens.
